| The practicalities of Skills Management | The IT Metric Project (IMP) aims at assessing staff skills and knowledge.
What are the practical ways in which this can be done? What role do
software and national IT skills standards play? Will people be subjected
to batteries of tests or are there other ways of building reliable
information on skills, leading to accurate, efficient training?
Donald Taylor of InfoBasis Ltd will describe how current ICT technical and end-user skills frameworks are being used nationally for skills management. He will show how job roles and training plans can be built for the benefit of individuals, departments and organisations. |

| What is UCISA? | On the 1st April 1993, the Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association, UCISA came into being. The creation of UCISA was enabled by the merger of three bodies - IUCC, the Inter-University Computing Committee, PCCC, the Polytechnics and Colleges Computer Committee and MISC, the Management Information Systems Committee. UCISA exists to promote excellence in the application of information systems and services in support of teaching, learning, research and administration in higher and further education. Mike will discuss UCISA's structure and activities and seek feedback from delegates to the conference about their awareness of UCISA and their views of what it should be doing for them. | .ppt .pdf |
