Parents, Children and Siblings

A "parent" is the next link up the cache hierarchy. A parent will fetch objects for a “child” proxy. The Oxford caches have three parents at JANET, two at Manchester and one at London.

A "sibling" is a proxy at the same level in the hierarchy. Siblings can query each other for data, but they won't fetch objects for each other.
